Favorite advanced iWeb tips/tricks/guide sites?

Looking for the best of iWeb sites with tutorials and other information to help someone who is pretty familiar with the program, but might want to try some advanced techniques that go beyond what Apple talks about on their own site.

Blogs? How-to sites? Forums?

While I know that iWeb is quite limited compared to most Web-building tools, I'd like to get as much as possible out of this program as I really like a lot about it and, for the most part, it serves my needs.
 
Good iWeb instruction websites

I'm a crazy fan of iWeb, and I have published 6 websites by using iWeb so far. I also wanted to share good iWeb tips, and tricks as well as advanced tutorials. Hence, I built Beyond iWeb, http://plugidea.com/iweb
From this website, I will constantly update new useful iWeb tips, and tricks. As well as my web, I would recommend www.iwebFAQ.org. This is such a great iWeb tutorial site as well.
I hope this info would be helpful for you.
Believe iWeb can be professional web building tool. I also do it.
 
Hi Plug. Looked at your site and there are some good tips, however, there are no links to some of the tips, eg inserting a Google custom search feature and the text/image hover feature. Are you still working on these?

Sorry, Dave. I update a couple of tips, everyday. Some of tips on the Tips browser have not been linked so far. I will update them as soon as possible. For some tips, I need to describe a crucial tip calls Replace HTML. It may take a while, I will let you know when I have made Google custom search and Text/image hover button tutorial. Thanks for reading my poor tips.
 
great topic, thank god i am not the only iWeb user, after reading a lot of other topics it seemed to me that iWeb is dying!

I really like your site!

I notice that everyone who publishes via iweb has a folder in their http directory (e.g. yours is iweb). Would it be possible to change http://plugidea.com/iweb/home.html to just plugidea.com?

Why does iWeb do this by default? Defeats the purpose of paying for a short, simple domain.

Basically, yes. iWeb does publish its website into sub-directory which is site name. Some people don't like long URL, however it would be missing very important thing. Just showing up the domain (www.websitename.com) calls Domain Masking. All of hosting services or registering domain services such as godaddy.com, whois.com provide domain masking feature (URL is fixed not changed on the browser), but I wouldn't recommend it.

The reason is search engines can't index webpages in the domain, as well as people are not allowed to directly go to a page. It is impossible. You can refer to Apple Inc's website, www.apple.com. They have a lot of sub-directory which help distinguish their product lines.

In my personal thought, the best url can be 'www.yourdomain.com/sitename/' not including x.html like Apple's website. Wordpress can do it. I still research how to make it.

I'd like to say I really apologize you for letting you feel like it. It is my fault even though I didn't intend it at all. As you may know, I have built 6 websites using iWeb by myself so far, and also planning a couple of websites. From these experiences, I have acknowledged a lot of know-hows and secrets of iWeb. Most of tutorials are from my experiences, google, and other reference websites of iWeb. iWebFAQ.org is also one of my most favorite references, as well. I also mentioned it above, and recommended that site. However, I didn't copy at all seriously. I mentioned the reference sites if it is from other sources not from me. I will mention it if I grab some tips from that site. Some tips may be duplicated because advanced tips are from professional sites such as Highslide JS, JQuery (mostly), Imageflow, and etc. For these sources, I merged their sources with my knowledge together. That's why the site name is plugidea.com. As I'm a crazy user of iWeb, I just want to share my experiences for other users. This is my hope seriously. That's why I take my time and efforts to this website after my work. You can count on me. Please, take a look at all tutorials in detail, not only categories. I have a lot of advanced tips in my hand, but I couldn't put everything due to my work. I will do more advanced tutorials soon. Thank you for your comment.
